What is included in the price of my holiday? We believe that the price you see is the price you should pay therefore the price of your holiday includes the following:- all bed linen and towels, normal gas and electricity usage (please note the charging of Electric vehicles is not classed as normal usage and vehicles must be charged from the EV charge points we have provided at each lodge using the Monta App, extra charges will apply, EV's must not be charged from the domestic supply using 3 pin domestic plugs and granny chargers), Wi Fi and any of our specialist items of equipment that you may request at time of booking. There are also extra charges for pets which currently carry a charge of £20 per pet per stay (not including registered service/assistance animals).

What arrival days do you allow? Arrival days are Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Arrival days vary between lodges and seasons. Use our online booking system via the book now button to check the specific lodge you are interested in for particular arrival days.

When and how do I check-in? You can check into your lodge from 4.00pm onwards on your arrival date. You will be required to access your lodge by collecting your key from a keysafe attached to your lodge and the code for this will be provided in your booking documents. Please do not come to reception to collect your key. 

What time is departure? Departure is at 10.30am. Please leave your key in the keysafe for your lodge. Please do not return your key to reception.

Do you allow short breaks? Yes we allow 3 night weekend and 4 night mid week breaks throughout the year. Use our online booking system to check the availability and price of short breaks for the dates you are interested in.

How do I check availability, price and book? You can check availability, price and book online simply by clicking on the book now button that appears in the top left of every page on our website, by clicking the book now button wherever it appears on our accommodation pages or by clicking on the available dates on the booking calendars wherever they appear on our website.

Can I make a provisional booking? Due to the high level of demand for our lodges we do not accept provisional bookings. A non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure dates.

What deposit is required? We require payment of a non-refundable deposit of 15% of the total holiday cost or £100 whichever is greater to confirm a booking. 

When do I pay my balance?  The full balance is due by no later than 55 days prior to the start of your holiday. You will receive a balance reminder.

What payment methods do you accept? We accept Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards, Cheques (however, these carry a £3 supplement per cheque) and BACS transfer. 

Do you charge a supplement for paying with a credit card? No we do not charge any supplements for paying by credit card.

What is your cancellation policy? For full details on our cancellation policy please refer to your Terms and Conditions document provided when making your booking.

Can I amend my booking? You can amend the dates of your booking free of charge up until 8 weeks prior to arrival. For full details on our amendment policy please see our Terms and Conditions.

What Accessibility Equipment /Provision do you make in your lodges? We have a wide range of equipment available free of charge on request, this equipment must be booked in advance and is subject to availability. For a full list of equipment we can provide as well as full access statements for each lodge please see our Access Information page. 360 degree videos are also available on our accommodation pages to allow you to walk through the lodges in virtual reality.

What are the Safe Working Loads of your Specialist Equipment? Our Guldmann ceiling tracking hoists have a safe working load maximum of 200kg/440lbs, our Invacare Medley Ergo Electric Profiling beds have a safe patient load maximum of 145kg/319lbs providing the bedding, mattress and accessories do not exceed 35kg, our Oxford Advance Electric Mobile Hoists and Oxford Journey Electric Stand Aids all have a safe working load maximum of 155kgs/340lbs. Please just get in touch if you wish to enquire about any other specific items. 

Can I bring my pet? We welcome up to 3 pets in our Drummochy, Cardy, Keil, Emsdorf, Lundin, Largo and Durham Lodges, however please note there is £30 charge per stay per pet and these should be added to your reservation at time of booking. We do ask guests who bring pets to adhere to a few common sense housekeeping rules, these rules can be found in our terms and conditions.

We would ask that you keep your pets on a lead at all times when within the Homelands estate, this includes, the grassy areas leading off the patios. Please do not let your dogs off the leads at any time. If you wish to exercise your dog off the lead, please either take them to the common which you can access via our east pedestrian gate or to the beach. Please do not let them run free anywhere within Homelands. 

Our Massney and Selkirk Lodges are designated pet free Lodges therefore pets are not allowed in these properties. Registered assistance animals are allowed free of charge in all our properties.

Is smoking/vaping/e cigarettes permitted? Smoking / vaping / e cigarettes is not permitted in any of the lodges, on the lodge patios or within the grounds of Homelands. We reserve the right to charge a fee of up to £200 for a deep clean to remove the smell of smoke from a lodge and we reserve the right to refuse future bookings from any guests suspected of smoking in our lodges. 

Do you provide on site carers? Homelands does not provide on site carers or any care packages, we are a self catering operation and leave the organisation of care facilities to our guests. We can provide a list of care organisations in the area on request but are not in a position to recommend any particular care organisations.

Do you have BBQ facilities? Our lodges all have brick built BBQ's on their patio and we operate a cash deposit system of £15 to hire a BBQ pack including grills, utensils and cleaning kit. Your £15 deposit will be released on return of clean BBQ grills and pack. If you choose to use a disposable BBQ then please refrain from doing so on any of the grassed areas and use the paved patio outside each lodge.

Do you provide facilities for charging electric vehicles? Yes each lodge has an EV charge point (extra charges apply) which can be accessed using the Monta App. Details of chargers in the locality for when you are out and about can also be found at Charge Place Scotland . You must not plug your electric vehicle into a normal 3 pin plug socket using a granny charger within any of our lodges.
